Water Discovered in Remnants of Exoplanet. Just over one month ago, astrophysicists at the Universities of Warwick and Cambridge made the discovery of the first evidence of a water-rich rocky planetary body located outside of our solar system. The evidence was found in the form of oxygen-rich dust and debris of what had once formed a larger planetary body. The debris was discovered surrounding a white dwarf star known as GD61, located 170 light years away.
